An update to all MAPFRE Home Policyholders

You may have recently received an email (or may receive an email moving forward) from MAPFRE Insurance notifying you that your payment plan has been updated to “11-Pay.” The reason for this change is that many payments for policies that are being billed to mortgage companies are being received late. And if your policy was previously set up on a Single Payment option (which is the case when bills are sent to mortgage companies), a missed or late payment could result in additional fees and/or the policy being placed into pending cancellation for non-payment.
To ensure less issues with payment processing, MAPFRE has changed the billing type to allow for additional time for the payment to be received.
We understand that this may sound a little convoluted, but it should result in less hassle for our customers. We wanted to be sure to let you know this is simply an accounting change, and there have been no other changes made to your policy (unless requested).
